THE BIKE WRECK
dear friends and family
on the 14th of october i bought a new motorcycle vintage 2001
[i took the train to spokane and had a lovely ride on hwy 2 home to seattle
via leavenworth... w/stops along the way to see friends and straw bale homes]
on the 19th of october i crashed in the southbound 99 tunnel in seattle
both my body and the bike walked away pretty clean
i broke three ribs and my machine broke some plastic and a mirror
and there are definitely some scratches and dings
i am healing exponentially yet ask that you send some positive vibes my way.
i have wanted this particular model for over a decade
a kawasaki 1000 concours sport touring machine
[photos to post next week]
and felt that it was time to retire the police interceptor for a safer machine.
i get the message that it is time to go slower and be more present as
this is my third accident this year
[clarification, only this one involved the motorcycle]
... i get the message this time!
many friends have expressed "glad you're still with us sage" and
i really appreciate the sentiment and positive energy i have been receiving.
i never felt that 'this is it' moment... but it is fucking great to be alive
the accident: it was a 'first rain' sort of day...
i hit an oil slick doing about 35-40mph and smashed into a wall of the battery tunnel
in an outside curve. both bike and sage took a solid hit. the bike then went down
and spun around a couple of times. all cars and trucks stopped and they shut down the tunnel
a large trucker from the biggest truck ever and a scooter rider picked up the bike
and the scooter guy rode it out of the tunnel for me. bike still rides! [but not by me for a while]
an ambulance showed up within minutes and after hobbling out of the tunnel
to survey the damage to the new blue machine, i agreed to take a ride to the ER.
after getting inspected and injected and xrayed to the max... they could only find
three broken ribs [no other internal damage... except to my pride]
but they kept me overnight for observation. nice bed.
the next day as i was getting released they mentioned thats i may have a fracture
in my shoulder as well.
doctors treatment: good luck, get better.... they don't even wrap you any more and it looks like it's going to be about 8 weeks before i'm back in 90% action
sage treatment: 1) went to the ecoguild's retreat on the 20th. some thought i was nuts...
but the energy there caused exponential healing by the loving energy of the members and by some direct energy work from architect and spiritual guy tom bender and his wife lane as well as a massage from terri - thanks all!!! 2) spontaneously heard about an energy
healer named darren weissman and booked an appointment with him. really good stuff & partially based on the principals of dr. emotos work on the consciousness of water - you know, from what the bleep... the beautiful crystals if you speak with love
so i bought his book 'the power of infinite love and gratitude' and i'm looking at my life anew
i have been taking it slow and am just completing my second week off of work
which has been quite nice... but time is flying by - even doing nothing
next week i'll go back half time and if that goes well, i'll return full time the following week
no riding for a while
and picking up little galaxy is limited
both are a sad deal
well, i'll leave it at that for now
give a call or drop an email [though i'm ont online too much of late]
infinite love and gratitude,
sage
from the desk of the south park library
and big thanks to those of you who have already helped me & family along the way
